On Heidegger's Thought On Art

Based on his ontological thought, Heidegger believed art play an important role in human's being. For helping us to investigating art on a new angle and enhancing the theory of art only from a technical level to ontological philosophical one by better understanding his overall philosophy, and exploring into his brand new angle on art, I try to research Heidegger's thought on art by the method of philosophy, literature and art in this thesis.Two ingredients—substance and work, and the essence of art are firstly be analyzed in the thesis according to the sequence of The Origin of the Work of Art, based on these analyses, the functions of art and the status of artist are also discussed. Heidegger's thought on essence of art and functions of art is considered his ideal expectation to art in this thesis, and the necessity of this kind of expectation is doubtful.
