This period prominent characteristic is the scholar-official family holding the power. And they exterted great influence on the society. Liu Fang who was a famous genealogist classified the scholar-official family from Wei Dynasty to Tang Dynasty into five types, according to the area. They were twenty-six families and distributed in Shandong, Guanzhong, Jiangdong, Southeast, Daibei.
