"Mengya" In The Transformation Of The Contemporary Literary Production

With the integrated transformation of the social, political and economic system of modern China, the contemporary literary production mechanism also transforms deeply and obviously. Taking the 50-year histories of blossom and depression of "Mengya" since its first publication in 1956 as axes, this thesis brings the development of important phases of contemporary literary production system accompanying by "Mengya" into the research vision, analyzing the transformation of Contemporary Chinese Literary production.Contemporary Literary production system was fractured after 1949, when the system under national ideology gradually substitutes a kind of Contemporary Literary production system with market orientation. "Mengya" was born in such a system and was compelled to stop publication during the period of Cultural Revolution. It was the ideological front of discovering and supporting youth authors from the very beginning. In the early 1980s, with the publication trends of literature periodical, "Mengya" resumed publication, promoting supplement and holding literature awards, it stepped into a period of resplendence. However, the literary production system, which was still a succession of pre-cultural revolution traditional system, did not change qualitatively. In the middle and late 1980s, the economic system reform was commenced, the market factors started to penetrate into the literary production, especially in the 1990s, the impact was so sharply that traditional literary production system faced great crisis, and the status of literature suffered a disastrous decline and it was edged out step by step. "Mengya" broke through from the embarrassment and was possessed of a large market by reforming in late 1980s, correcting in 1996 and commenced New-Concept composition contest in 1998 successively. "Mengya" focused the market and cultivated lots of "after-80s" writers, consolidating the brand names of well-received works so that it firmly grappled a great number of consumers, spread its working scales to publication and education areas and started its collectivize way of cultural industry.Reviewing from "Mengya" and other related influential factors, we may understand that the original components of literal mechanism are still in existence and working functions besides a more distinct market-orientation operation. The new literary production system that puts by Wang Xiaoming is just a compound that mixing old and new ingredients, which is exerting sharply influences on the overall alternation of authors, writing modes, the destiny of belles-lettres and the present literature studies.
