Study On Aesthetic Of Folk-custom In Shen Congwen's Folk Literature

With a high reputation and a legendary life experience, Shen Congwen, the famous writer, created a large number of works during his twenties and thirties in twenty centuries. His novels can be categorized into two types: one category focuses on the life of western Hunan, eulogizing the beauty of human nature by portraying the primitive, natural life of the people in the countryside; the other category focuses on the life in cities, unmasking the lose of human nature in the city by portraying the corrupt and degenerate life in the city. Shen Congwen made a big name for himself in the middle of 1920s by perfectly integrating the original life style of western Hunan into his novel, and gradually became a very important representative of the Chinese native literature.The readers always indulge in the unique rural scenery and illusion world portrayed by Shen's native works. At the same time, he also try to find the clodhopper's unruly characteristics in the illusion native world, which has been destroyed by the life reality in the city. Why did he continue to write a lot of novels concerning the rural custom of western Hunan persistently when his passionately devoted countryside pastoral and long-drawn-out feeling was constantly disturbed and ruined by the turbulent society? What's the relationship between his countryside experiences, his deep sentiment towards the western Hunan society and his aesthetic ideal? Behind his efforts to create a beautiful world of western Hunan as the last land of happiness in his novel, what kind of aesthetic psychology did he have?
