In the 20th century′s research area of humanistic thought ,the former Soviet Union Mikhail Bakhtin scholar is a scholar with huge controversy and remarkable achievements . All the same, the Western Modernist Novel of the 20th Century has received many critics for its creativity and practice in the ideas and skills.This essay is to explain the literature works of one nation with the help of the literature theories of another nation. The purpose is to strength the cross-culture understanding and to build a bridge for the communication among the nations. The study is expected to serve as a medium for the understanding and the communication.Through an unusual perspective of culture transmission and the direction of Philosopher Bakhtin, this essay makes the novels and novelists of modern western school of 20th century as"actors", showing us the repeated multiple tone and revelry of Bakhtin′s theory. It expects to reveal the mutual relations of explanation and proof between Bakhtin′s theory and the western modernist novels of the 20th century in the exploration of the novel that is particular medium. Meanwhile we also re-interpret the western modernist novels and novelist in order to show the true feature of Bakhtin′s theory.In Chapter One, it combs out and combines Bakhtin's theory in the context of Philosopher Bakhtin and from the perspective of cultural transformation.
