Improving English Reading Comprehension Through The Internet

English teaching plan puts forward higher demand to students' reading comprehension. There is no doubt that to improve reading comprehension is necessary for students. We should use some new methods to improve reading comprehension overcoming the disadvantages of traditional reading methods. The Internet has emerged as a prominent new technology and developed rapidly. It provides abundant and convenient resources. The use of the Internet is widespread in numerous fields and domains; it carries great potential for educational use, specifically English reading comprehensive.This paper will focus on the question of how reading can be facilitated with the Internet for language teaching and learning. It discusses the possibilities of improving English reading comprehension through the Internet and introduces some basic strategies, the teaching methods and activities of English reading through the internet. It presents a detailed report of the project implemented to solve the problem that many students are not good at reading especially their vocabulary are limited .It introduces some ways and some factors measuring reading progress such as the enjoyment factor, the understanding factor, the range factor and so on. It also outlines the advantages and disadvantages of the new methods. At last it describes benefits and problems encountered while using them.Lack of vocabulary and lack of enjoyment make reading difficult. It is hypothesized that students can improve their reading comprehensive as well as their vocabulary and reading strategies through the Internet. At the same time they can learn some tips for making reading more enjoyable.
