This essay tries to present the particular color of drama in Plato's philosophy by reading of Plato's philosophic drama"Laches", accordingly explain how Plato reach his goal of philosophy by making use of dramatic features of dialogues. In the process of reading, we can see a specific tact of philosophical writing.This essay goes approximately in three parts. In first part, a brief introduction of"Laches"is given which is the text resource of this essay. Opinions of previous scholars are given in this section as well, which are confirmed or opposed by author in the essay. Issues posed by these opinions having been resolved in the essay.In the second part, i.e., straight matter, specific reading of"Laches"is given. This essay goes in a narrative and commentary way because it's an explainary essay. Sections in this part have their correspondences in"Laches": according to six dialogues in"laches", there are corresponding narrative and commentsThe third part summarizes the effects of such reading and reviews the history of changing concept of"courage". By doing so, we can see slightly some basic features of western philosophy, and see accordingly the approach of its holistic turning. All of this can help us understand the predicament of western philosophy and enlighten correlative reflectionl.
