As the second largest country in Latin America, Argentina was provided with favorable conditions for agricultural development, whereas its agricultural industry has always been relatively sluggish and behindhand since the independence. Before 1930s, Argentina already joined the capitalist global market system through grocery exportation and gained speed in the exportation sections of its agricultural industry. Oppositely, the foundation of its agricultural industry still remains on the level of colonization period. The agricultural industry of Argentina is of advantages in terms of natural condition but can not realize its modernization. What is the reason for this? That is the topic of this thesis.Land tenure is one important factor that influences the agricultural development as one property which is closely related and indiscerptible to the land itself. The land tenure of Argentina is different from other Latin American countries. It did not take shape during the colonization period but after Argentina's independence. It is also influenced by the reality of Argentina that the land is amplitude while the population is small. After 1880, the overspread of global capitalism forced Argentina's economy to join the global economic system in terms of primary products exportation while at the same time, it also bonds together the land of Argentina and its agricultural capitalist production. After 1930s, with the rapid development of importation substitute industry in Argentina, the land tenure becomes behind of the time and Argentine government started with land reformation, which is recognized as a failure...
