TaiPingJing is a typical Taoist text written in the early stage of Taoism, namely the epochs of Emperor An and Emperor Shun in Eastern Han Dynasty. Yuji and Gongchong took the main recordation responsibility, which means that TaiPingJing is not a personal work which would probably be supposed to be finished in a definite time. There were one hundred and seventy rolls in the original text, which was divided into 10 parts in Chinese era way, seventeen rolls of each part. Its very recent version basically reserves its virgin visage, which makes itself very important in history researches of religions and ideas tracing back to late Eastern Han Dynasty or even earlier, that is, Western Han Dynasty. From a point of view of language research, TaiPingJing is of great value. Its readership is made up of Taoism masters and disciples, and many spoken languages of Eastern Han Dynasty and other exclusive words have survived successfully in this text, some of which are the mealanguages of mediaeval times and modern times. The most special language forms of the text are the synonym chains which reflect the particular features of the text. And we have not discovered this kind of language forms with such a great amount in other texts yet. This discourse mainly discusses the synonym chains made of 2 characters, 3 characters, 4 characters or even more. It starts with the discussion about the structures and meanings of synonym chains. Then, this discourse embeds its analyses in three dimensions: conception function, intercourse function and text function.
