Why the literati painting style raised in Yuan dynasty couldn't be the only dominant style at the beginning of Ming dynasty? And why did professional painters become the leaders of the whole art realm at the same period? Meanwhile, what is the reason of the brilliant Zhe School suddenly turned grey at the middle of Ming dynasty? All the analyses of the reasons were quite different given by the precursors.Because of the short "golden times" of Zhe School, after the rise of Wu School, art realm had come into the time of literati paintings. Only because those famous men such as Dong Qichang's appraisals, we might leave it behind. And also because these inequitable appraisals, we met a lot of troubles in understanding Zhe School.Obviously official historiography has a blank record of Zhe School, because the technique of painting could not help anyone get into noble world. Under the Confucianism's educational tradition, the literatis after Tang put their life goals on imperial examinations----to be a civilian. So, the development of painting had a tight junction with social conditions\political environment\education system and merit system besides its own way of developing. Also, the period of Zhe School was the turning point of Ming system. Previous experts had already given us conclusions about the affect to Zhe School brought by this epoch.
