As far as modern Chinese syntax construction is concered, subject is in front of verb, object is behind verb, subject and object can not convert directly and have relative regularity. However, there is a sentence in modern Chinese that subject and object can displace each other, that means subject-object displacement sentences.Based on the previous researches, by means of generalization, description and interpretation, the thesis firstly reviews and analyses the types of subject-object displacement sentences. In the following chapter, we discuss the difference in the meaning when the sentence displaces word order of subject and object, then prove the conclusion that semantics change follows word order change in Chinese and word order is a important measure of Chinese syntax. Lastly we analyse the limited conditions and reasons that subject and object can displace each other in order to explain their interior mechanism.
