The Case Study On Modal Adverb In Emphasis Category By The Text Analysis

This research first reviewed the literature related to the study of about modal adverb and theoretical background on text analysis, and it is found that there are only a few paper are about the text analysis of modal adverb. On the basement of the categories of modal adverb, the researcher studies the modal adverb in emphasis category and defines it in her own opinion. The study aims to, on the basement of analysis and discussion of text function of some modal adverbs in emphasis category, conclude some concrete ways of analysis and hope to help the text analysis of other categories and text teaching.By text analysis of"明明", it is found that"明明"can express the unexpected feeling of the author's (or the speaker's), and it has the function that hangs together the intention of the author (or the speaker) and the mood of the text.By text analysis of"偏偏", it is found that"偏偏"has a powerful function of cohesion."偏偏"can link up the semantic structures, transition structure, step-up structure and explanation structure are included, especially transition structure.By text analysis of"显然", it is found that, as a cohesion component expressing reasoning,"显然"has different requirements for literature text and science and technology text, which are expressed in the distribution of semantic pattern, the characteristic in analyzing, the emphasis in expression and the trait of linking up texts.By the comparison between"真的"and"确实", it is discovered that both the two words can be used in the same semantic pattern to link up the same semantic structures, however, they are employed in different type of writing, and their distribution of location, the phrases made up of them and the emphasis they stress are different too.
