This article aims to provide a new descriptive perspective for the acceptance of Chu Yuan's prose poetry in the Pre-Han period. Individual intellect's survival situation in the Pre-Han period can be displayed in the political atmosphere and cultural trend, which can be discerned through politics and culture, along with related literary works as the key materials. Particularly the experience of"individual aspiration unrealized"can be revealed in the works of the men of letters. The article will focus on the deeper relationship between Cultural psychology and their political experiences, and the sarcastic literary writing tradition, which was structured in the process of imitation of Chu Yuan's prose poetry.Chen Yin ke, a renowned chinese historian, was opposed to the Old history groups that fake historical materials didn't have real history. This enlightens us: The works written by the literati in the Pre-Han period can't be simply judged as real or fake, good or bad, right or wrong. We should look upon the reason why the intellects loved to talk about the"themes on Chu Yuan"from themselves and their works, their comprehension to Chu Yuan and how this comprehension will influence their literary writing are also included in our study. When we link all the literary works and take a general view of their chronicle and synchronic state in history, we can see the track of how the intellects in the Pre-Han period mentally transformed when placed in different political situation and other things as well. This essay argues that it is no more than a natural thing for the men of letters to regard Chu Yuan as a intropective and conscious exemplar in sarcastic writing style during the Pre-Han period when"Poetry"were considered as a source of reference. and Chu Yuan's prose poetry were imitated and emulated by the intellects in their analytical strategy of reading the people and the world. We can see that Chu Yuan represented a symbolism, and his prose poetry were echoed in the various works written by the Pre-Han intellects.Through studying the relationship between individual literati's experiences, such as Jia Yi, Dong Zhongshu, Sima Qian, Dongfang Shuo, Wang bao, and the historical environment, and their imitated works, we can point out that, the mental transformation of the Pre-Han intellects follow this track:These intellects turned themselves from an intravert into an open-minded in mental scale; they converted themselves to collectivism from individualism in mental objects, and they changed their stance from confrontment to obedience to mental consciousness in mental malleability. We will stop our study in Wang bao, one reason why we do this is that,"Great Union"ideology of the autoracy was fully formed during that period, and the individual aspiration unrealized complex had been intensified into its climax, different kinds of writing materials have provided us with abundant information to pulse the mental tendency of the men of letters; the other reason is that themes on Chu Yuan have included major mental transformation appeared in the ensuing years.
