Research On The Development Of Shanghai Metropolitan Cultural Performance Activities

Nowadays, culture and its developing level is playing important role in a country or a city's comprehensive development strength and core competitive ability. With the entry to WTO, especially after Shanghai has succeeded in bidding for EXPO, the municipal government has set up the great goal of building Shanghai into "social modern international metropolis" and "international culture exchange central city" in the prophase of 21^st Century. In the past few years, Shanghai culture industry has developed rapidly and metropolitan cultural performance activities have been active and flourish as never before. In the meantime, Shanghai metropolitan cultural performance activities are still lacking in brand construction, competition advantage, industry chain establishment and market management. Related governmental departments and industries focuses on how to build metropolitan cultural performances into city cultural new brands with international standard, Chinese and Shanghai characteristics.This paper uses the research means of literature analyse, comparison between China and foreign countries, case analyse and expert interview.
