As the cultural soft power is growing in China,the domestic excellent documentary gradually moves towards the world,letting foreign audiences understand China in this way.As early as 1903,the image of the the Imperial Palace was recorded.The clips of the period began to appear in several parts of the event,and the stitching lenses were mostly fixed scenes and positions.But there are no modern clips.The documentary "the Imperial Palace" in the lens reorganization,through the interlacing of time and space between the past and the present,let the audience feel the history of the Imperial Palace at the same time,"to say history of things" and then the characters and events.Based on the collection of the Imperial Palace documentary images and relevant records,the author makes a detailed analysis of the documentary.Based on the documentary text,and relying on the lens language and editing grammar in the works,from the methods of the film editing,the form of editing and editing and the aesthetic experience of the sound and painting in the clips,this paper discusses the space-time intersection style of the editing of the "the Imperial Palace",and discusses the principles of the relationship between the history of the documentary and the present relationship.
