The key of education reform in the 21st century is the change of learning and teaching modes. Modern education emphasizes the consolidation of basic knowledge, developmental knowledge and creative knowledge. To achieve this goal, it's necessary to adopt the inquiry-learning mode.The thesis is based on the Chinese teaching in higher vocational education. The author expounds the Chinese inquiry learning in many aspects such as necessity, theoretical foundations, essence, characteristics, and detailed implementation. In the final part, some mistakes which are prone to be made in the process of implementation are discussed. We should avoid making similar mistakes in Chinese teaching.
