Succession system is one of most ancient, basic system in humanity history. It is also the legal system which relates each family and self-interest in the society. Han Dynasty is the important stage which the social, the legal system development took shape in ancient China. The succession system of Han Dynasty also reflects the characteristic in this time. Therefore, the research on this question is helpful to us to understand thoroughly the Han Dynasty society.The article is divided into two chapters to discuss the succession system of identity and property of Han Dynasty.The first chapter is about the succession of identity of Han Dynasty. Succession law of Han Dynasty main standards the relationship of succession of identity, which is including the succession of nobility and householder. Han Dynasty exercises twenty rank of nobility system. The title is the rank order important symbol in the society of Han Dynasty, so, the succession of nobility also becomes one of succession relational which is standardized by the Law of Han Dynasty. The Two-year Laws provision that the rank of nobility is succeed by the legal son, then the legal son establishes according to eldest son of legal wife principle. The human who is natural death , his legal son succeed the rank of nobility drop secondary, but, who is death in time of duty, his successor can succeed originally the rank of nobility, even plus the rank of nobility one grade.
