A Study On The Protection And Utilization Of Cultural Heritage In Mt. Lushan

Cultural Heritage which is human's precious treasure has a prominent effect in conserving the diversity of human culture and keeping the cultural-ecological balance of the human society. Mt. Lushan, as the only "World Cultural Landscape" of China, whose correlated administrations have done lots of fruitful work to protect and utilize the cultural heritage in this region, all of the actions have also provided a lot of useful experiences for the sustainable utilization of world heritage. However, these years, affected by some factors such as age and regional economy ect., now Mt. Lushan is confronted with some problem with its development such as the state of arrested development of social economy ,the blindness in the exploration of tourism resources and destroy to the cultural heritage.This paper, which is under the guidance of historical materialism and dialectic materialism, synthetically applies the theories of history, sociology, tourism, ecology, cultural geography and sustainable development to study the cultural heritage in Mt. Lushan on a multi-angle, all round and microcosmic as well as macroscopical perspective. Theoretically, by studying on the meaning, type and value of the cultural heritage, it tries to construct a basic framework of the study on cultural heritage's sustainable utilization. Practically, this study will probably induce the ordinary people paying more attention to the cultural heritage in Mt. Lushan, impel the stakeholders such as local government, communities and league to participate in protecting the heritage. By this means, the cultural heritage will play an active role in local economy, and a harmonious Mt. Lushan will be maintained, and a kind of new thought and countermeasure also will be provided to the tourism of Mt. Lushan.There are three stages in the form of the cultural heritage of Mt. Lushan. Firstly, before 1895, Mt. Lushan has come through Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism co-exist era, after amalgamating one another for thousands of years, its cultural heritage forms a typical composition, such as Dong Lin Temple, Xi Lin Temple and White Deer Grotto ,and mainly reposed on the foot of the mountain. Without doubt, the culture of Lushan at the antiquity settled a foundation to the cultural heritage at the present era. The period from 1895 to 1949 is the second stage of the form of the cultural heritage in Mt. Lushan. With the conflict and amalgamation between Chinese and Western culture, flourish of the neoteric tourism, the undulation of the political campaigns as well as the evolvement of scientific research, the cultural heritage in Mt. Lushan have shape another composition, the Kooling Mountain is the core zone, and the kooling villa group is the typical landscape. From 1949, because of its pleasant climate and beautiful scene, Mt.
