In modern society, with upgrading of the technology and increasing mental and cultural demand in normal life, creative ideas and thereby the creative industry have became a brand new production factor which adds market value and illustrates the rise of so-called creative economics.In literature, theories of the creative industry have been developing rapidly. However, they haven't been shaped into a system as a whole. Based on researches on analysis of the background of development of creative industries, comparison with traditional industries in characteristics, this thesis discusses the creative industry from an angle of clusters and networks. In this, it begins with cluster influences on the rise of creative industries to analyze the trend in their evolution process. And then uses the theory of network economics to investigate into the competitive situation of development of the creative industrial market with mode of production under the outward networking circumstance.Structurally, it contains three main parts. The first part includes the first, second and third chapters and is the literature foundation, involving the overall background of development of creative industries and the four unique characteristics of the creative industry itself. The second part is the main part of this thesis, concerning with the forth, fifth and sixth chapters. In which the forth chapter discusses the cluster influences on development of the creative industry and indicates three externalities in this regard, including technology, social capitals and local images and three phases in rise of the creative industry named "the multiplicity production stage", "unitary production stage" and "locked up production stage" accounted for the possible trend in its evolvement. The fifth chapter uses the theory of network economics to investigate into the competitive situation in development of the creative industrial market according to the varying status in supply and demand, and then brings forward the mode of mass-customization production suitable for rise of the creative industry under the outward networking circumstance. The sixth chapter makes the main conclusions from the above discussion and puts forward the future prospect of thisstudy. The third part is the seventh chapter and brings forward six strategic suggestions for future development of the creative industry.The innovation of this thesis is attributed to the double dimension discussion approach and exposes the evolvement mechanism in rise of the creative industry under the cluster circumstance. Meanwhile, it investigates into the industrial competitive situation in development of the market and the production model of the creative industry under the situation of communication networks. Based on these, six strategies for future development have been put forward.
