The Development And Comparison Of Parent-adolescent Communication Questionnaire For Community Teenager's Parents

Parent-child relationship is based on blood relationships, it is also a most basic and important family relationships. Many studies have proved that a harmonious parent-child relationship is important for teenagers' mental health. Parent-child communication is one of the most important and most critical for parent-child relationship. Parent-child communication has a close relationship with adolescent psychological and behavioral problems. Good communication can promote a child's pro-social behavior development which will create trust between children and parents. And abnormal communication will create anti-social or non-social psychological behavior. A good parent-child communication can help parents find a balance point between love and control child, thus it creates a good parent-child relationship.This paper studied the problem of community youth's parent on the parent-child communication compared to average parents. It used parent-child communication as starting point, parents as subject. Study included two parts: the first part was a qualitative study. On the basis of 14 parents interviewed, we edited a version of parent-child communication questionnaire. After repeated amendments, the ultimate questionnaire had good reliability and validity. The second part was a quantity research. With the parent-child communication questionnaires for parents in the first part, we compared the difference between community family and average family, investigated the problem and the factor influenced parent-adolescent communication.The experiment result showed: (1) The CA is 0.911 of the PACS for parent, also the CA of three dimensionalities is all above 0.7. This showed this scale has well reliability. (2) This scale has three dimensionalities. They are subjective feeling, experiencing and observing emotion and communication value. (3)There are significant effect between community and normal family. It indicates effectivity of the questionnaire. (4) There are significant effect on the subjective feeling and communication value between two kinds of parents. There are significant effect between boy and girl for communication. Also the gender of parents and the education level of father have significant effect to communication.
