Family and school which play a crucial role in the formation of the self andadaptability of junior high school students are the main places where they spent their time.A large number of studies show that parent-adolescent interaction has internal relationswith the academic and the coping of junior high school students.This research has measured603junior middle school students of different gradesfrom Harbin and Changchun with Parent-Adolescent Communication Scale(PACS),Adolescent General Academic Self Scale which made by Guo Cheng and Simple CopingStyle Scale which made by Xie Yaning. This paper gets the following conclusions:1.The parent-adolescent communication of junior high school students has significantdifference in grade, it generally declines along with the grade rising. Junior high schoolstudents reckon that the influence to them from mother is more than that from father. Thisresult has no relationship with their own gender.2.The academic self of junior high school students has significant interaction effect ingrade and gender. The academic self of junior high school students from city issignificantly higher than their from rural area.3.There has significant difference between positive coping and negative coping ofjunior high school students, positive coping levels is higher than that of negative coping.Positive coping of junior high school students has significant difference in grade,it generaldeclines along with the grade rising.4.The parent-adolescent communication, academic self and coping styles of juniorhigh school students have significant correlation with each other. There has significantpartial correlation between mother-adolescent communication, father-adolescentcommunication and positive coping of junior high school students.5.The partial mediating effect of academic self between parent-adolescentcommunication and positive coping was confirmed. The relation model of parent-adolescent communication, academic self and coping style is applicable to the juniormiddle school students who are in different gender, different grades, different ethnic,different educational level of father, different income, different family residence anddifferent schools and so on.
