Matsumoto Seicho is a representative writer of Japanese social detective stories. Many of his works have been translated into Chinese. This thesis is composed of four parts: Preface, Part A, Part B, and Conclusion. Preface briefly introduces this writer and the translation and current study of Chinese literature field on him. Also, it briefly introduces his one important literature proposition, and indicates that the disclosure and exploration of women's problems is one of the major focuses in his works.Part A consists of three passages, elaborating Japanese women's subsistence dilemma after the World War Two from three aspects. Matsumoto Seicho creates various kinds of women figures in his works. And these women reflect various kinds of social problems like a mirror of Japanese society. While exploring these women's subsistence dilemma, he discloses some social problems such as war trauma, money worship and husband's authority over household.Part B consists of two passages, respectively elaborates his distinctive view of women and creative reasoning form. He concerns mature women who suffer disgrace and insults in order to accomplish a task and fight bravely, and pursues Japanese women in beautiful kimono boasting graceful and elegant traditional beauty. In his description, the glamour of women and gloom of men create the meaningful contrast. In the art form of reasoning, he breaks the old mode by taking men as the leading figures, substitutes women for men and glorifies them. Moreover, he discards the purposeful pursuit of story conflict and settings of suspense. Instead, he tells stories mainly by using women's destiny mysteries and women leading figures' confession, and melts the logic of reasoning and the logic of women's emotions to broaden his expression methods. Conclusion sums up his works' innovation and fascination on the basis of above paragraphs.
