Mr. Lao She's three-scene dramas "Teahouse" was published in 1957,the script has been successively translated into English,German,French and Japanese. Beijing People's Art Theatre has put on 500 performances with a pomp as never before.."Teahouse" is the Chinese classic works of contemporary drama and is Lao She's creative peak ever since the founding of PCR, which received highly evaluation from readers and audiences at home and abroad. In domestic it was praised as an " extinct art". China's outstanding drama, "Teahouse" is the first one to be invited to perform overseas. In 1980 from September to October, Beijing People's Art Theater was invited to perform "Teahouse" in West Germany, France and Switzerland. It was highly praised by European audiences. Dozens of Western European newspapers published the comments,praising the "tea house" is "a miracle of the Far East drama," and " a miracle of China modern drama.West Germany "Mannheimer" once commented that the experts believed that Teahouse was the most powerful witness of modern Chinese drama." Laoshe should be included in the world's great authors forest" which glows the dazzling brilliance of China's drama in the world and turned the history of Chinese drama to a brilliant page. Therefore, he is also the explorer and the peak of the 20th century Chinese drama. The success of "Teahouse" marked China's enterance to the literary world. Cao Yu's said : "He Plays the" Longxugou ditch "and" Teahouse "is the history of the classic drama. His contribution is indelible.Since the 1980s, under the general background of the flourishing academic research, Laoshe's "Tea house" entered the researchers' multidimensional perspective, not only for the microscopic study, but also macroeconomic research; not only within the areas of literature, but the super-literary disciplines; not only the specific individual studies, but a variety of integrated studies; not only horizontaly, but the longitudinaly. No matter from which perspective,"Teahouse" study occupies an important position in the study of Lao She's works.This article combed the research results, making great efforts to reflect the research level and the development tendency of "Teahouse", and let each earnest researcher to be able to excavate the valuable academic information according to the time culture development, giving the endless talking drama a whole new explanation. This paper discussed from the perspective of time order, to reflect the progress of the study and meanwhile maked sumaries on each part,highlighting the prominent features of each period.The paper is divided into six parts. The first part is a comprehensive digest of the General, mainly discussing on the status of "Teahouse" in the history of Chinese drama. The second part focuses on the features of "Teahouse" research in each period from the 1960s to 2006. discussed about and the birth and the hard road of "Teahouse". During the 30 years From 1957 to 1989, the theatrical and research of "Teahouse" can be divided into two periods: In 1957-1978 "Tea house"was coldly received in domestic. Although welcomed by the audience, it did not meet the requirements of the mainstream literature and also because of the criticisms from certain politicals and some biased people in art ,The researchers of this period are more to show their negatives rather than affirmativies. The study of Lao She's "Teahouse" is almost a blank in the 10 years of "Cultural Revolution". From 1978 to 1989 "Teahouse" had been put on the international stage, received a great acclaim and since then it was caught extensive attention from the researchers of Lao She. The researchers began to reconsider the status of Lao She in History of Modern Literary and Contemporary Literature of china and to study the realism and the structure of drama, the language charm, and so on achievements of "Teahouse" from a multiple perspective. Although in recent years "Teahouser" has made a lot of achievements, it is still far from enough, such as the artistic value and understanding of "Teahouse" is not clear enough; the study on the language and artistic style of "Teahouse" is just a start that need to be further exploited. < the whole expandition in vision , the Innovation in depth and perspective (1989 - 1999)> pointed: during the 1989 and 1999, as a new artistic ideas, especially the rising of foreign literary theory in China, psychology, cultural studies, anthropology, religious studies, Western aesthetics something like those infiltrated into the study of "Teahouse", perspective and depth of research and the level and meaning of interpretation to "Teahouse" also have a breakthrough and progress. It not only has the Cultural collisions and melting in micro, but also profound analysis for the rich content. In the 1990s the study to Lao She's "Teahouse" combined in the macro and micro and united in depth and breadth, achieving considerable progress and breakthrough in theory grasping and works comprehension. It also updated in the research methods. It conbimed the science of nature and humanities in exterior and depended on psychology, and ethics of the latest research results in interior, and placed "Teahouse" in a complicated three-dimensional perspective system, changing the face of "Teahouse" dramatically. Researchers of "Teahouse" reconsidered the status of Lao She works and modern Chinese literature and developed a thorough researching for, "Peking tone", the figurative art and the folk art, humorous personality, and other works of "Teahouse". " higher start point, more attempts (2000-2006)," pointed out that in the 21st century,the research of "Teahouse" has accessed to a comprehensive and in-depth stage. From 2000 to 2006, researchers focussed on the study of "Teahouse" in social and cultural interpretation, comprehensive exposition, and expandition of the research methods and research space, and re-interpreted in several areas. From an overall perspective, "Teahouse" Research had shown a good momentum of development. The First is the introduction of the concept of Lao She's drama , the status of Lao She's drama in literary history in the 20th century and the contribution to the modern Chinese drama. The second is that entering the 21st century, the researchers continued to dig out the Peking tone meaning of "Teahouse". On the basis of research results in the'80s and'90s, it got a breakthrough which no longer stopped at the language of Appreciation, but put it in a broader area for interpretation and infiltrated various theoretical linguistics. Third is the research and development of the whole process for the stage art of "Teahouse".The fouth is the study of modern, open character of "Teahouse". The fifth is comparative study on the "cross-culture and cross-border of "Teahouse". The Sixth is to re-examine and analysis the topic of "Teahouse" from the perspective of culture, folklore, anthropology. The seventh is that a linguistic theory has been put into the Features research of "Teahouse" Language.The conclusion affirmed research achievements of "Teahouse", but also pointed out the existing problems and shortcomings. Duplicated topic, single perspective and poor creation formed Laoshe-studying phenomenon of mutual-reproduction and self-reproduction which is increasingly prominent and maked studies in the previous 15 years showed a decrease in the overall development. The studying has been plunged into an unwilling but have-to-admit state of silence and lingering on development. "Teahouse" research needs further integration and studying in a multidimensional vision, and Put forward new research topics and expand in a greater vision.
