Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region lies on the northwest of China and Eurasia hinterland. It is the heartland of the Silk Road, and there lives some nations which create florid and characteristic national culture. Uygur's songs and dances is one of the diversiform Xinjiang national cultures. Uygur's songs and dances have abundant content and lots of forms, consisting of music, dance and poem. Inheriting by daily manufacture and life, it has great art value, history value, culture value and society value, which is a valuable culture estate. Looking back the 20th century, the Uigurs come through the transform of traditional society to modern society. Uygur's songs and dances are under threats and challenges during the history progress of global economic integration, west development and modernization. So it is urgent to protect and spread the Uygur's precious art. The propose of this paper is to backward the spread of Uygur's songs and dances based on territorial review of Lukeqin town and the Uigurs' dictation, and to give some feasible suggestions to the protection and spread of Uygur's songs and dances.The thesis consists of eight parts. The first one is the meaning, propose, method and view of this research.The second and third parts summarize the Lukeqin town's history, the Uigurs' living space and life, the content and character of their songs and dances.Then the fourth part discusses the spread of this art before 1949. The paper researches the Lukeqin town's singing and dancing estate before the prince's mansion was set up by combining cultural relics and historical materials. The paper obtains the spreading status during the prince's government by field investigation, history and literature. The spreading include the prince's music and traditional folk-custom activities which spread people's daily singing and dancing life and it's existing background.The fifth and sixth parts follow the fourth part, regarding people as the principal part of the spreading. The paper gives a main view of the spreading of singing and dancing in the social background and national environment by chiefly studying the people's behavior. The fifth part traces people's music life during the period from the liberation to the Cultural Revolution and describes the main carrier of Uygur's songs and dances'spreading which named commune performance team. The sixth part primarily researches the recover, development and spreading of Uygur's songs and dances during the modernization progress of Lukeqin town.The seventh part discusses the advantages and disadvantages during the spreading of Uygur's art by the spreading and inheriting history and actuality of Uygur's songs and dances in Lukeqin townThe conclusion of this paper gives some suggestions to the spreading of Uygur's songs and dances by studying the protectionism of the immateriality culture inheritance come by UNESCO, the State Department and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
