With its vivid character portraying as well as skillful events depicting, SHIJI, the historical masterpiece of China which was occasionally criticized for its literature style, had exerted a far-reaching influence upon China ancient story writing, and such influence often took the form of shaping the ideas, aesthetic taste and artistic skill of novelists,. Because of it's superiority SHIJI is one of the most popular books that the learned people should read, so such influence must be direct and very strong.Si Maqian, the author of SHIJI, who had ever suffered from a tragic experience but faced it gamely and engaged himself in his business perseveringly, preceded a tradition of making a determined effort in writing, and which was modeled by those who writing novels. And besides, such tradition made novelists make all efforts in truthful writing and shaped, therefore, a trend of moralized style in their working. In addition to the points mentioned above, because of his tragedy preference, excellent depiction and vivid narration, there was an obvious link between Si Maqian and his successors. Moreover, SHIJI was often sourced by ancient novelists.This article consists of two parts: the first one deals with the relation of SHIJI and ancient novels from it's writing pursuit aspect while the other the aesthetic tendency between them. With great efforts, this article aims at analyses of the items mentioned and accounts for it thoroughly.
