Phenomenology of perception is the essential idea of Merleau-Ponty. Depending on his own physical experience, Merleau-Ponty absorbed the findings of modern psychology, physiology and mental science. For the previous philosophy of Husserl, Bergson,Heidegger, he took measures of criticizing, improving or surpassing to set up the well-known "phenomenology of perception". He broke through the boundary of traditional philosophy and got through the internal connection between philosophy and science, leading us free from the dualism of traditional philosophy. From the view of Merleau-Ponty, the starting point of traditional philosophy is inaccurate. It starts from either the external world or the internal soul. consequently, both of them get into bias. In order to reverse the process of cognition we reversed before, Merleau-Ponty criticized both empiricism and intellectualism. In his view, we should start our cognition from apperception and then regress the original phenomenal world, perceptional world. Only in this way can we solve the problems authentically which cannot be solved in the traditional dualism.During this process, our body plays a crucial role. It represents the existence of "dual meanings". We can say that it represents either substance or consciousness, meanwhile, it represents none of them. It is a kind of special existence: body—subject. Based on this point, the researcher communicated with others, himself and the world, gestating a world full of cultural time and meaning. In this process, a new approach of those unsolved problems traditional philosophy and experimental science were always confused is available, such as others, world, time, space and freedom. Under the influence of theoretical background from Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology of perception, eastern and western culture both obtained thorough exchange, a new possibility of communicating.Through discussion and rearrangement for Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology of perception, this paper may draw the following conclusions: first, Merleau-Ponty's theory plays a crucial role in the western philosophical history. Second, with the particular and more profound understanding of perception and body, we can completely make for a new philosophy; acquire a new and unique experience for our own body's existence.
