There is a good many studies on literary imagination, which concerns the regional literature images such as Shanghai and Beijing; however, as the cradle of Qi and Lu culture, Shangdong is rarely taken into consideration while thinking of regional literature images. Many researches merely limit to the legitimate, conservative, ingenious and straightforward folks of Shandong. Taking the ghost and peri world in "Strange Tales of a Lonely Studio" as the center of fairy narration, this dissertation tried to seek the fairy Shandong image through the development and evolution of fairy narration of Shandong literature. This dissertation reviewed the regional literature image of Shandong from a literary view, and tries hard to expand and modify the vision of people's understandings of Shandong image.This dissertation can be divided into the following six parts:Introduction: Described and summarized the conception and features of fairy narration; Illuminated the target and significance of research on literary narration of fairy Shandong.Chapter I: "Strange Tales of a Lonely Studio" and fairy narration of Shandong. Firstly, described the tradition and source of fairy narration in "Strange Tales of a Lonely Studio". Introduced the reason how "Strange Tales of a Lonely Studio" had happened. Secondly, analyzed in details the fairy narration from the view of esthetic world and bitter symbols. Thirdly, introduced how Shandong fairy image was shaped in "Strange Tales of a Lonely Studio", especially esthetic women of Shandong, and distinguished the fairy image from traditionally"straightforward"and"heroic"images.Chapter II: The rise of modern science and the decline of fairy narration. Analyzed the reason and performance of decline of fairy narration during the half century since"5.4". Under the great pressure of modernization, science and revolution, heroic images gradually replaced the fairy and mystery image of Shandong.Chapter III: The revival of fairy narration in the new age. Seek the profound and complex historic reason of revival of fairy narration in the new age. It is not only the free choice of comparatively free cultural environment, but also the result of return of traditional mysterious culture, and the inburst of Latin American evil spirit imaginary realism. Fairy narration of Shandong literature in the new age is the revival of civilian Qi culture. It figures out a new fairy Shandong image, by means of mixing traditional description of legend characters and modern artistic techniques such as imaginary, illusion and coincidence.Chapter IV: New "Strange Tales of a Lonely Studio" by Mo Yan. Taken Mo Yan's novel as special case to analyze. He built a fantastic world with ghost stories, miraculous tales and legend folks. The author tried to seek his ideals through that world. He set up a literary geography image of mysterious"Northeast village of Gaomi", which represents the fairy regional literature image of Shandong. Mo Yan's novel inherits Pu Songling's, then has a new transformation according to the contemporary background, which creates a style of Mo Yan's new "Strange Tales of a Lonely Studio".Conclusion: Summarized the fairy narration of Shandong literature; Promulgated the relationship between fairy narration and fairy Shandong.
