With the advent of the economic globalization, the regional integration and the informationization, current regional and urban development has presented two tendencies: global urbanization and the urban globalization. Thus, a new regional spatial formation, urban agglomerations, have already appeared in current urban intensive districts which well-developed. Consequently, the key is how to organize the urban agglomerations spatial structure rationally in order to develop the urban agglomerations'quickly and sustainably. Transportation is not the only factor that impacts the urban agglomerations'spatial structure; however, with the evolution of the traffic technology, it has already become a linkage of regional economy and an important carrier of constructing the urban agglomerations'space. Also, it is the kernel to regular development and rational organization of urban agglomerations'space.Therefore, this dissertation unifies the method of the theory exploration and the real diagnosis research. Synthesizes urban geography, regional economics and transportation geography and other related theories; Aim at investigating the leading mechanisms the composite traffic systems act on the urban agglomerations'spatial structure and unifying the reality of central-southern urban agglomeration in Liaoning to carry on the real diagnosis. This article including four main parts:Chapter one gives the theory basic of this article. Defines the annotation of the basic concept on Traffic, Urban Agglomeration and Urban Agglomerations'spatial structure, also summarizes the correlative theory basics of the transportation and urban agglomerations'spatial structure, including: urban agglomerations'spatial structure theory, location theory, transportation and urban interior structure theory and so on.Chapter two is the theory discussions about effect mechanism the transportation acts on the urban agglomerations'spatial organization. Considering different periods of transportation's technology development as a rule, the article analyzes the functional mechanism of the transportation from two lays of both the individual space and the agglomerations'space, and emphatically studied modern transportation pattern's (including rapid express railway, bus rapid transit and car) affection on the organization of the urban agglomerations'space. These theories support to probe into the demonstration analysis on the central-southern urban agglomeration of Liaoning.Chapter three and four is the example investigation—Central-southern urban agglomerations'spatial organization of Liaoning oriented by transportation. Expatiates on the area conditions, social economic development, space configuration as well as the traffic foundations, emphatically put forwards establishing rational urban agglomerations'spatial organization and industrial distributions oriented by intending composite transportation systems of central-southern urban agglomeration of Liaoning.The research on the both transportation and urban agglomerations'spatial organization's domain is an exploration and development basic on the mutual mechanism theory; Also, suggests an innovative mode on the Central-southern urban agglomerations'spatial organization, which displays certain instructing significance to its practice work.
