It is our country that has 5,000 years'civilization. There is profound culture in it. There is a large variety of folk music in our country. The folk vocal music is planted in this fertile land, which uses the experiences of abstraction and development continuously in the innovation. The folk vocal music has formed a new vocal music school with the following features, such as solid foundation, powerful strength and extensive influence. It is nourished by the prosperous Chinese cultural vitality. The cultural connotation of folk vocal music directly effects its development, which contains ethnical emotion, music style, language and aesthetics.Singing art is based on the art of folk vocal music with the characteristics of taking Chinese language as its foundation, taking the ethnical emotion as feelings, and taking the voices with emotions. Chinese folk music art is an extensive artistic concept. The main idea of this article is to elaborate the developmental track of vocal music around the our traditional culture, which focuses on the important function of the development of vocal music to follow the development of vocal music and to investigate the cultural connotation of folk vocal music and its inner contact with traditional Chinese culture. In addition, we can analyze and elaborate the characteristics and attributions of Chinese vocal music through the deferent background of vocal music between China and foreign countries.With the social development, music as part of our society changes rapidly in the 21th century. Especially, the vocal music pays more attention to its own ethnical features and trys its best to keep folk style. Meanwhile, it takes in more fresh and new elements and takes on a shinning and glistening future.
