This thesis studies the learning process of the elementary Uighur students on modern Chinese adverb"才"and"就". First, it analyses the most commonly used meaning items of"才"and"就"in grammar books, Peking University Corpus of Modern Chinese, the textbooks that the elementary Uighur students are using, and recent HSK model tests. We then carry out a test and questionnaire with the elementary Uighur students, and describe the results of the test and questionnaire concerning"才"and"就"in detail. We put emphasis on the analysis of the students'regular errors.At last, we provide some suggestions for the Chinese language instruction according to the results of the analysis.The main contribution of this thesis is that we have made statistic analysis about the commonly used meaning items of"才"and"就". Which helps us know more about the the elementary Uighur students'learning process of"才"and"就". The findings will enable us to teach more objectively.
