The dilemma that translatology has long been excluded from independent discipline makes many scholars in Chinese translation circle doubtful of the effort to establish translatology and theoretical system of translation. Fortunately, there are still some scholars who make great endeavor for that. Liu Miqing is a conspicuous figure who has made outstanding accomplishments and has accelerated the progress of Chinese translatology and theoretical system of translation.Confronted with the phenomenon that some Chinese scholars blindly follow the achievements in the western translation theories, Liu Miqing puts forward a series of theories on translation. He advocates the establishment of"Chinese touch"in translatology by inheriting the fine tradition of Chinese translation research studies and absorbing the essence of the western's.This thesis aims at making a tentative study on Liu Miqing's translation theories. The first part of the thesis gives a brief introduction of Liu Miqing's translation theories and his life and states the significance and the layout of the thesis.
