Mao Zedong is one of the most outstanding Calligraphers of theday in China ,whose Calligraphy thought is comprehensive andprofound, bearing the vivid imprint of time. His idea can be listed asfollows:Firstly, Calligraphy is a branch of knowledge. The thought runsthrough the Calligraphy consciousness in his early lifetime and hisCalligraphy practice all his life. He places Calligraphy, education,cultrue and art on the same level. He regards Calligraphy as a art anddefinitely supports the scholastic pursuit about calligraphy.Secondly, Calligraphy should be used to serve people. The viewmainly reveals that calligraphy is the important component of chineserevolutionary cause and it must emphasis practicability. Mao Zedonghas made a good example on this aspect for the present epochhandwriting through his own efforts For the displaying form, heespecially emphasises popularity of his handwritings, which makes agreat contrubution to the explore on modality and content innovationof Calligraphy in the new epoch.Thirdly, Calligraphy should be" Teacher creating, persuitingharmony." Mao Zedong extremely canonizes chinese ancientCalligraphers' natural explore on Calligraphy and adopts this way inhis Calligraphy practice. So his Calligraphy works disclose anaesthetic idea of persuing harmony, nature and anthentication.Fourthly, it's necessary to follow regular patterns and containstudy and storage in learning handwriting.
