The Situation Of Practice

The main topic of psychology is human being, but in Westernpsychology, the appearance of human being has always beenimperfect or even be forgotten. Based on the differencesbetween emphasis on human being research, we can sort all theWestern schools of psychology into four perspectives on humanbeings: mental perspective, behavior perspective,environmental perspective, and interaction perspective. Theseresearches on human beings only reflect one aspect or part ofhuman being, they did not construct a full appearance of humanbeing.Marxism's practical philosophy has provided a newperspective to comprehend the nature of human beings inpsychology. It is based on and starts with practice, which hascriticized all the old philosophy and realized the "practicalturning" in modern philosophy. Thus a completely newunderstanding on the nature of human being, consciousness, andenvironment and their interrelationship has formed. Thissuggested the adoption of the notion of "practice" intopsychology and understanding the mind, behavior, andenvironment and their interaction on the basis of practice thusreaching the entirely new understanding on the appearance ofhuman being. The Soviet Union and Chinese psychology had bothrealized this and some quiet fruitful results had achieved.However, as the times going on, the contemporary psychology andMarxist philosophy have all made great advance and it'snecessary for us to make a new understanding on the definitionsand significance of psychology from a practical view. in this paper, practice is the basic category ofpsychological research, it is the creative activity of humanbeings, and it is the summary of all the human activities. Itis first represented by the individual behavior, but it is notthe behavior in the previous psychologists'view. In the angleof practice, mind is created in the process of practice andguide practice. Environment is the condition and also theobject of practice. Mind., practice, and environment are aninteraction process, and the nature of human beings is evolvedduring the process. The research of man cannot emphasize anyone of the aspect but should start from practice to make acombining research.The introduction of the practice into psychology hasreformed the thinking methods and thus the duty, object,methodology, theoretical framework, representing methods andthe theoretical evaluation standard in psychology will all bechanged. This has provided an alternative approach forpsychology to avoid the trapped condition of western psychology,to promote the unity of Marxist philosophy and psychology, andto construct the "China-featured psychology"...
