Yuefu folk songs are a literary treasure of China, following Shijing and Chuci. This paper deeply analyses the customs of material production and life, wedding and funeral, superstition and religious belief and the customs of folk entertainments. Through these phenomena and the aesthetic pursuits embodied in them, the paper reflects people's material life, the mental and psychological conditions and the aesthetic inclination in the Han Dynasty, which lead to further exploration of the aesthetic value of Yuefu folk songs from the perspective of folk customs.
