With the development of commodity economy, residential buildings appearanceone after another incessantly.The names of the residential buildings become newaspect interested by social life and linguistic study. This article has developed to therhetoric research of the names of residential buildings.Study to the names of residential buildings not only because they influencecommodity sale, involve to the benefit of the developer, has certain economic value,but also because they are the civic of city culture, has certain culture significance.Although the names are diverse, they are regular on the back.This article mainly uses the method of investigation statistic and languagematerials analyzing, as the language for foundation, joint the theory of rhetoric, basesin Guangzhou, refers to Beijing, Shanghai, take the names of residential buildings inthe last few years in the newspaper and internet in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou asthe subject, described and analyzed the rhetoric characteristics of the names ofresidential buildings systematically and exhaustively, tries to do comprehensively anddeeply. Meanwhile, compared the difference of the names of residential buildings inGuangzhou with the names of residential buildings in Beijing and Shanghai, find outthe reason of this difference.
