Entering the new century, the Chinese plays an increasingly important role ininternational relations with the improvement of China's international status. Its status'rising promotes the development of the overseas education of Chinese language. Inthe past entire 20th century, the education of Chinese language in Europe hasgradually established, though it was totally blank before. Especially in the last 30years around the time, that the stable development of Sino-European relations greatlypromotes the cause of Chinese language education in Europe. Because the influenceof international politics, economy, science and technology, and other factors, manyChinese language schools in Europe have reached a certain big scale. Thedevelopment of Chinese language education in Europe gets into the rapid and stableperiod. It has got significantly expanded regardless of content or teaching methods. Inaddition to the above factors, the rise of the new generation of both Chineseimmigrants and overseas Chinese has brought a bright future for Chinese languageeducation in Europe. However, the limitations inherent in Chinese language schoolsand the predicament in national consciousness become more important issues whichwill restrict the Chinese language education. How to realize the own characteristics ofChinese language education in Europe on its existing foundation, to seize theopportunities, develop the Chinese language education targeted in European countries,and make it Converge with local education system. This all have importantsignificance to the Chinese language education both in Europe and the whole world.
