A Study Of Literati Travels In Ba-Shu In The Latter Of Tang Dynasty

Along with tourism's development and traveling fundamental research thorough, the people start to pay attention to carry on a development of travel resources in a deep level and connotation type, starts to take to the research obout travel culture. Ancient literati was main inventor of the Chinese ancient travel culture. The research about literati travels in traditional Chinese society is not only important to the research of ancient travel, but also advantageous to understanding about the ancient travel culture, thus rich cultural connotation about travel resources, promot tourism's development.The Tang Dynasty was a important time in the development of ancient travel in history, travels had developed greatly. The Bashu area is in the southwest of China, stability and rich, many people had traveled there in the latter of Tang Dynasty. Bashu ancient travel had a bigger development in that time, and the travels of literati was most remarkable.This paper takes the literati travels in Bashu in the latter of Tang Dynasty for research subject. The literati including local literati of bashu and external literati which entered Bashu in the latter of Tang Dynasty; The region involved Sichuan and Chongqing area. This paper analyses the historical background, survey, type, characteristic, as well as its profound influence about the literati travels in Bashu in the latter of Tang Dynasty. Through this discussion, the author tries hard to obtain some enlightenment, which will be good to the development of the modern Bashu tourism.The paper is composed of five parts. The first chapter introduces the concept of ancient travel and literati travel, and deals with the significance of studying ancient Chinese literati travel, introduces present situation about the literati travels in Bashu in the latter of Tang Dynasty in the end. The second chapter analyses the historical background. After a simple review of literati travels in Bashu area, the author emphatically narrates the social condition, travel resources, glorious historical culture and transportation, restaurant and lodging condition. The third chapter analyses the survey, type and characteristic about literati travels. The fourth chapter analyses the various influences theses tourist activity exerted upon tourists and Bashu tourism and points out the profound influence on Bashu social culture from region culture. The fifth chapter is the conclusion of this paper. In view of present situation of Bashu modern tourism, the author points out that we should try to take advantage of the literati travels'cultural connotation of Bashu in the latter of Tang Dynasty, and puts forward some proposals.
