Since the beginning of reform and opening up,urban residential space in China especially in big cities are increasingly evident and have a certain negative impact on the community.Based on the introduction of abroad and domestic residential space differentiation theories at first,and the analysis of the driving mechanism of residential space differentiation abroad and domestic, this article analyzed the driving mechanism of residential space differentiation in Shanghai, and analyzed the current residential space differentiation status of Shanghai.Thought that the current residential space differentiation status of Shanghai can be summed up as the ring differentiation result of value-oriented of land, the shape of string of beads differentiation result of public facilities such as track transportation,mosaic-like differentiation result of the impact of the landscape, the foreigner-gathered residential districts result of economic-globalization.Also, analyzed it's negative impact on the society.According to what has been discussed above,and the discussion of the different countermeasures abroad and domestic,given the countermeasures of the residential space differentiation of domestic cities.With the macro regulation and control policies,it can through taking the housing welfare policy just in the certain scope, taking speed up the suburb construction as the ultimate strategy,the building of"affordable housing"as the primary means,constructing some mixed-residential communities as a try within a certain scope,ultimately reducing the phenomenon of residential space differentiation in cities and weakening it's negative impact.
