A Research On Status Of Master Degree Students' Loneliness And The Relation With Attachment Types And Social Support

The study of loneliness begins with the medincine study, and social psychologists would later introduce it to the psychology, so begins a series of studies. In 1973, the American scholar Robert S.. Impressed by Weiss on attachment theory, issued the "loneliness, one emotion and social isolation and emotional experience," ,his desire has a gap with the actual level of a psychological or subjective experience, which creats the propior study of the loneliness. Inspired by the text, Peplau and his students had stared the study of adult loneliness since the beginning of the 20th century to the late 1970s.In the early and middle of 1980s,the promotion of research in sense of adult loneliness improves that the adolescent loneliness begins to grow. At present, the loneliness of the West is concentrated on the two directions : one is the research of the adolescent Loneliness ; the other is the adult loneness in the study.Researchers from different perspectives and standards study on the definitions,types and measurement tools of the sense of loneliness. The definition of loneliness has the three main theories: from the perspective of human needs,from cognitive and behavioral theory to understand the concept of loneliness. Generally speaking, Loneliness is believed that the lack of social networks carries with the unhappy experience and that the lack of social relations in terms of quantity and quality is low. But there is a unified expression no the sense of loneliness definition, however, including the following three aspects : (1) the sense of loneliness is created in the social intercourse; (2) the sense of loneliness is an unpleasant; (3) It is a subjective experience of the individual, whether the objective of social relations or not.Perhaps being busy but feeling lonely, living alone in a room while enriching ones hearts. On the level of loneliness of classification, the classic type of emotional loneliness and social isolation is commonly used by the most researches. According to different concepts and classifications,it is split into emotional and social loneliness, characteristical loneliness and state Loneliness broken down have corresponding measurement tools.This study was to test the graduate students because they are in violation of the characteristics of age, They may run out of a vulnerable age from experience loneliness and helplessness stage. Then there are the psychological experience of this group for the present study has been far too concerned. We hope that this study will provide help for university psychological workers.We elect social support as a related variable ,because social support is a impact variable witch impact loneliness ,but also to the different types of attachment for a sense of loneliness, attachment types can be said to be a factor in the whole personality, it also shows that self-esteem and interpersonal trust. And the relationshiop of self-esteem and interpersonal trust and the feeling of loneliness has been a number of research studies. However, the attachment types,as a overall personality variable, studied this overall sense of loneliness has yet studied. Meanwhile, to research the relationship between loneliness and parenting methods. The plan was to explore the relations of parenting methods and attachment types, attachment and social support and the sense of loneliness and do a path analysis, However, taking into account the difficulties of testing ,so we are simply to do some research.Therefore, this study used questionnaires to study the sense of loneliness of its Master Students and some demographic variables factor , parenting methods , attachment types and social support and other factors,it has come to the following conclusions:First,the master students have the general sense of loneliness, and feeling loneliness is grave.Secondly, there are significant differences in sex, or love, family economy, parenting methods and other aspects. On single child and urban and rural areas, although they have differences but did not reach significant levels.Third, there are significant differences in the attachment style. the overall sense of loneliness of fearful and preoccupied and dismissing is significantly higher than secure ,but fearful is significantly higher than preoccupied,and preoccupied is significantly lower than dismissing and fearful, and significantly higher than the secure type.On social loneliness secure was significantly lower than the fearful, and preoccupied and dismiss- ing.But fearful is significantly higher than preoccupyied,and dismissing is significantly higher than the preoccupied. On emotional longliness the fearful and dismissing significantly higher than secure.Forth, the sense of loneliness and social support is negative correlation, But regression analysis found that social support has a better prediction for the overall loneliness and social loneliness and emotional loneliness.
