Language teaching can be defined as the activities which are intended to bring about language learning. Foreign language teaching is a systematic effort by a teacher to induce the learning of a foreign language by one or more students who are native speakers of a different language or languages. In the field of foreign language teaching, there are plenty of different factors that could affect the effectiveness of students' language cultivation. Among them, teacher factors which may consist of teacher personality, their competence in the subject matter, teaching content, teachers' expectation of students, etc seem to be extremely vital. The thesis emphasizes the importance of teacher factors by means of expounding how language teachers affect students' language learning. On the basis of previous research, many factors could be influential to foreign language acquisition. In this thesis, questionnaire and follow-up interview have been adopted as the research activities, and the findings of this research has been analyzed to find out possible factors which could affect language acquisition and reveal the differences between the present and previous research. The findings of this research could not be 100% authentic, but it is meaningful to foreign language teaching and learning to some extent. The significance of this thesis might be: to unveil how teacher factors influence students interest in language learning and to arouse scholars' awareness of the important role of affect (emotions and feelings) in language learning process. In addition, the findings of this study could be taken into consideration in future research.
