The Research On The Use Of Chinese Dictionaries By The Minority Nationality Students Whose Major Is Chinese In The Universities In Xinjiang

As one part of the research on dictionary theory, the research on the use of dictionary has drawn great attention of the specialists in this field, the dictionary compilers have more and more realized that to reflect from the process of using the dictionary and the viewpoint of the users will better satisfy the need of the users. Elevating the position of the research on the users of dictionaries and the using situation of the dictionaries in the field of lexicography will have positive influence on the research of lexicography and its practice. This essay is the research on the use of Chinese dictionaries by the minority nationality students whose major is Chinese in the universities in Xinjiang on the basis of questionnaires, interviews, observation and experiments in order to find out the number and the kinds of dictionaries they have, their attitude of using, the elements that decide on their choice, the purpose and technique and strategy of using dictionaries. We get to know their situation of using Chinese dictionaries and their need of dictionary information. The purpose is to provide the valuable reference for Chinese word dictionary, the compiling of Chinese dictionary for minority nationality students, to provide positive compiling means for lexicographers and the correspondent information in the micro structure of dictionaries, to help the readers with possible obstacles in language acquisition and shorten the readers'process of language acquisition from the formation of language ability, culture ability and social communication ability.
