The cultural adaptation of minority nationalities is related to the mental health of them,the common prosperity of all ethnic groups and the development of a harmonious society.Although many studies have explored the relationship between cultural adaptation and mental health of minority nationalities,it is a pity that no researcher has further explored the relationship between interpersonal relationship and cultural adaptation,one of the important dimensions of mental health.Therefore,this study is expected to explore the differences in social and cultural adaptation,emotional adjustment strategies and social anxiety levels of minority nationality college students studying in non ethnic gathering areas and the relationship among them through questionnaire research,and further explore the relationship between cultural adaptation and interpersonal relationship on the basis of previous studies,so as to enrich the psychological fields related to cultural adaptation Research.At the same time,through the interview study to further explore the emotional adjustment strategies used in the process of promoting the social and cultural adaptation of minority nationality college students,in order to provide valuable practical suggestions for the cultural adaptation and clinical psychological consultation of minority nationality mental health.In this study,316 college students of minority nationality who study in non ethnic minority areas were investigated by using the social and cultural adaptation scale(SCA),emotional regulation strategy questionnaire(ERQ)and social avoidance and distress scale(SAD);Secondly,nine minority nationality college students were selected for interviews,and the interview data were coded and analyzed according to the grounded theory.At the same time,four of them were selected for detailed case analysis to further explore the process of social and cultural adaptation of minority nationality college students.The results are as follows:(1)there is a significant negative correlation between social and cultural adaptation and cognitive reconstruction strategies,and a significant positive correlation between social anxiety and social adaptation strategies.Expression inhibition is not related to social and cultural adaptation and social anxiety.(2)Social and cultural adaptation was positively correlated with social distress and social avoidance,while cognitive reconstruction strategy was negatively correlated with social distress and social avoidance.(3)Social and cultural adaptation can influence social anxiety through cognitive reconstruction strategy,that is,cognitive reconstruction strategy plays a part of intermediary effect between social and cultural adaptation and social anxiety.(4)There is a dynamic circular relationship among social cultural adaptation,cognitive reconstruction strategy and social status.The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The social and cultural adaptation of minority nationality college students is one of the factors that cause their social anxiety;(2)In the process of social and cultural adaptation,the common positive cognitive reconstruction strategies of minority nationality college students include active refocus,active reevaluation,transposition thinking,rational analysis,and refocus on the plan.
