Chapter 2 tries to inspect how did "Analects" make Zhou Zuoren talk passionately about literature revolutionary and current event before the 1930s, and then become an excuse for being depressed after the 1930s. Chapter 3 describes how did the spirit "be aware of not success but still work hard" which was embodied in the essays written by Zhuge Liang become the main source of Zhou Zuoren's impulsive, aggressive thinking in May 4th period. Chapter 4 explains the reason why Zhou Zuoren had two temperaments, "traitor" and "hermit",is that he followed Tao Yuanming who is peaceful and leisurely, while Zhuge Liang's spirit made a tremendous impact on him;and then it inspects how did Zhou Zuoren begin his hermit life like Tao while the influence of Zhuge Liang disappeared.
