Haydn's piano sonatas are the best material for studying the classical sonatas. We should first learn Haydn's early sonatas about their technique, style and structure, that they lead us the best way to study his middle era and late sonatas and other cotemporary keyboard works. The essay is about the basic character, style of his early 23 sonatas (No.21-27 are fragment). It also analyses the development, which could be from divertimento to a dualistic structure and from scattered music phrases to such structural music. It shows us the characteristic and value of Haydn's early piano sonatas.
