With a long history and rich cultural life of the country, South Korea located in the East Asia. It was closed to the world ever since the ancient times to uphold a small country as a tradition so that was called "the hermit country" by the west scholars.As a carrier of culture,Christianity was introduced into the country of South Korea greatly influenced by Confucianism. Exchanges and conflicts of those two different cultures are unavoidable. Missionary activities in a foreign country may force the Christianity inevitably face the pressure and suppression of all aspects from the native Korea, but however, it still breakthrough a lot of resistances and growing to be stronger and stronger day by day.First, the earliest part of missionaries came to South Korea preached mainly based on the basic social needs of the Korean. They gave people great help in science, technology, education, and medical care...etc., so that to broaden the horizons of the people and led them to get their way to the modern advanced technology and the culture.Second, those people of Christian had always stood together with the Korean to fight against the Japanese aggressors in the South Korea warfare for national independence and liberation. These relationships formed in this critical period of national peril had touched a lot of people and also prompted many people to convert to Christianity.Third, in order to achieve the purpose for preaching, the Christian continually search for the similarities among the Christianity,the Korean traditional culture, and the theological concepts so that the Korean could recognize.Forth, the recognition of Christianity in South Korea made the Korean feel that it could purify people's soul and shape the social morality if people believe in Gods, so that it makes the Christian an increase in some extent.Fifth the Korean took the initiative to absorb the Christianity and the Christian culture brought about by new things, new ideas, and transform them into their unique culture with their own the national characteristics.Through the joint efforts achieved by the Christian community and the Korean, Christian has laid the mainstream in the South Korea and occupies a place in political, culture and education and some others aspects in South Korea. Preaching at the same time, the country shoulders the responsibility of dissemination of culture. It just explained the recognition of Christianity in South Korea on the other side.
