The Taiwanese Chinese and the Chinese Mandarin in the mainland are of the same origin. However,there has been much differences between them since Taiwan's complicated historical and cultural background as well as its isolation from the mainland for a long time. Entering the new era, a new phenomenon has emerged that there has been an infiltration and mixture between the Taiwanese Chinese and the Chinese Mandarin in the mainland along with the various kinds of frequent exchanges between them. The article focuses on the investigation into the special senses of a dictionary entry of 369 terms and 1029 words and phrases of the Taiwanese Chinese selected from The Contemporary Chinese Dictionary across the Straits. The quota statistics and qualitative description have been carried out on its basis so as to sum up the characteristics of the Taiwanese Chinese which is different from the Chinese Mandarin, the cause of its formation of the differences between them and the present situation and characteristics of which the Chinese people in the mainland absorb and use the words and phrases from the Taiwan's Chinese.
