The paper attempts, based on the scientific and evolutive notionand the development of technology, to analyze the phenomenon ofeuthanasia through philosophic lens, to justify it from the perspectiveof ethnics and to discuss its effects on the harmonious society. The paper introduced the history of euthanasia, gave it a newconcept, defined it on the philosophic level, and analyzed theclassification of euthanasia by different standards. Also, the papertried to analyze and justify euthanasia from three angles, that is,family ethic, life ethic and medical ethic. As for family ethic, "filialpiety", the toughest obstacle of the implementation of euthanasia hasbeen discussed in this paper, and it advocated reclaiming the originalnotion of "filial piety" to arouse people thinking much of the truemeaning of "filial piety"—happiness before death and facing deathcalmly. As for life ethic, the paper suggested to build a new view oflife and death by developing the useful and discard the useless of ourtraditional understanding of life. The key point to make it, the papermentioned, is emphasizing the quality of life and respecting human'srights of independence and development. As for medical ethic, thepaper suggested we should renew our understanding of the purpose ofmedicine, and then reconstruct the ethic of relationship betweendoctors and patients. Finally, the paper, as regard to two factors ofenhancing sanitation security and human-oriented, exploredeuthanasia's ethical supports towards the construction of harmonioussociety.
