A Multi - Perspective Interpretation Of Euthanasia

Our thoughts are susceptible to the illusions from commonplace events, which lead to deterioration. Our recognition of these illusions was built because we never questioning these illusions. Ethnic, part of human nature, is vulnerable to this deterioration. Prejudice we learned from own culture, inertial misconceptions from parents, together with boundaries in religion and the impacts of selfish, making the eventual doctrine as the universal consensus. Development in fields like philosophy and ethics should eliminate the wrong cognitions of the superstition and religious practices. In modern society, it is because above illusions that makes euthanasia cannot be practiced. At this point, by exploring several perspectives of euthanasia in the field of ethics, this article aims to eliminate those illusions that associated with euthanasia and finally to justify euthanasia.Firstly, tracing the definition and history of euthanasia will be the starting point of this paper. This paper tries to separate euthanasia into different categories after understanding different concepts. Then, give brief introduction about the development of euthanasia.Secondly, this article uses utilitarianism from the field of ethics as the focal point to find theory support for euthanasia. From the perspective of utilitarianism, three standpoints were set up, the standpoint of emotional factor, the standpoint of happiness maximization, and the standpoint of profit maximization. Discussion about the reasonable of euthanasia is based on these standpoints’ interrelationship with patients and relatives’social emotions, happiness and benefits. Illustration of specific cases will also be discussed.Thirdly, this paper uses the Golden Rule of the Ethnics as another focal lens, and by analyzing Golden Rule’s definition and ranges of application.to justify the reasonability of euthanasia.Fourthly, this paper illustrates Christian’s rejection of euthanasia with three arguments from the point view of religious. Then, it turns to retort these arguments with comprehensive explanation. At the end, this paper draws on this controversial argument with different perspectives of euthanasia to show Buddhism’s attitudes towards euthanasia.Finally, this article analyzes the possible inquiries that may face when practicing euthanasia and provides some ways to deal with these inquiries. For instance, diffusion of education, recognition of death, as well as establishment of rules that to get rid of possibly future troubles, which also indicates the possibility of practicing euthanasia.
