Intemational Trade Correspondence (ITC) is one of the core subjects for students majored in Business English in the secondary vocational school. It integrates application with practicality. However, the students have some difficulties when studying: they have trouble in expressing their ideas exactly when writing; they have trouble in understanding the theories of intemational trade completely because of their youth; they spend a lot of time and energy on the course but get poor efficiency. So the teacher is faced with the challenges of how to research systematic teaching strategies in order to provide powerful help which enable students to reach their own potential, to acquire subject knowledge and appropriate professional skills and to develop as capable and adaptable graduates. As a product of cognition, teaching strategies were studied from 1960s and reached its prosperity in 1970s. Many scholars and experts have made some profound studies and got rich achievements internal and external. The representatives abroad are Smith, Gage, J. S. Kounin, Brophy, Johnson and so on. In theory, they guide people to set scientific views on teaching and on the relationship between teachers and students, and pioneer the way to a new research field. In practice, they revive people to pay more attention to teaching strategies and go along with systematical research. Our Chinese scholars and experts have joined in since 1980s. They have been attempting to apply the achievements in specific subjects teaching. Teaching Strategies for English Teaching, by Professor Wang Duqin, is a wonderful guidance for our English teachers. But ITC is a kind of special English. It is quite different from common English. So we should take notice of its characteristics when choosing teaching strategies. To solve this problem, the thesis intends to make a tentative inductive study of teaching strategies by taking the Schematic Theory, Humanism and Social Interactionism as its rationales, and to probe into the essence of teaching strategies and their application in the classroom. It explains the definitions and descriptions of scaffolding, reciprocal, contrastive, integrate technology, writing and so on as teaching strategies in detail, and pay more attention to their application and the students'achievements. All the teaching strategies are proved to provide powerful help to study the course well.Better teaching is for more learning and teaching now is for no teaching later on. When we choose teaching strategies, we must obey the teaching rules, respect the students' present cognitive level, concern the study continuance, encourage help each other, strengthen self-conscious, and develop independence to lay a firm foundation for life-long study.
