The Effect Of Emotion On The Recognition Of Behavior & ERP Study

ERP is applied to assess the function of cognition, which is aneconomy, harmless and accurate technology. However, it is deficient inthe experimental study of the relationship between emotion and memoryvia ERP, so is the ERP study of recognition memory by applyingChinese characters of emotion in China. At present, although integralstudy of brain has been laid stress on the background of the study ofbrain function, but the location of brain function still makes us bettercomprehend the nervous physiological mechanism of the relationshipbetween emotion and memory. The study takes a combining behaviorsand the experiment of brain electricity approach to recognition memoryon condition that emotion has functioned.The study adopts a mixed design: 3 emotional groups×3emotional vocabularies. The former is experimental variables; the latterinvariables. The experimented university students divided into positive,negative and medium emotional group, recognize positive, negative andmedium vocabulary according to the emotional starting mode. The beingexperimented's the electric potential of cerebral cortex and behavioraldata are recorded by 128 electrode ERP equipment simultaneously.For the behavioral data identical with brain-electricity data, theresult proves:(1) the accurate rate of recognition of different kinds of emotionalvocabularies is differential, the rate of medium is the highest;(2) the effect of negative emotion on recognition memory is deeperthan that of positive;(3) as for different emotional vocabularies, the brain wave inforehead, centre, right-centre, P300 of top and LPC differs largely.The result of the study also supports the following: (4) the emotional memory caters to the orientation toward theright-brain;(5) the hypothesis namely the effect of recognition of emotionalvocabularies is relatively weak is due to the processing the vocabulary'semotion occupying some certain psychological space and the availablerecognizable space decreasing.
